For example, to remain covered head to toe and wearing a Hijab feels empowering to them. Hard to reconcile, right? I think it wise to remember that patriarchy has been the foundation of culture and societies of which we are all members. The public expression of your ideology is an example of the decline of Western patriarchy— thank heavens. Unfortunately, many Islamic societies remain committed to radical patriarchy.
